GeoDuVerse
Geology Educational Metaverse is an innovative project developed for the University of Florence consisting in a collaborative 3D VR Metaverse designed to transform academic research and teaching.
Accessible via Windows PC or Meta Quest 3 headsets, this immersive environment faithfully recreates an academic space where professors and students interact in real time through avatars. The system enables hands-on manipulation of 3D scientific data, such as geological surveys, enhancing comprehension through spatial exploration and interactive tools. Professors can guide sessions, highlight data, launch multimedia content, annotate on a shared virtual whiteboard, and share documents in an environment tailored for collaboration and active participation.
Built on a highly customizable metaverse platform, GeoDuVerse ensures content security, custom features, and future-ready scalability: a powerful new system for teaching, research and academic engagement.
