Galileo VR showcased at CineGlobe, CERN

VIS brings its immersive storytelling to CERN: Galileo VR was featured in the Immersive Zone at CineGlobe, the science and cinema festival held from 5 to 7 June.

Galileo VR, developed by VIS in collaboration with Museo Galileo Galilei was selected for the Immersive competition programme at CineGlobe, the science and cinema festival held at CERN from 5 to 7 June 2026.

The 15th edition of CineGlobe, themed Transitions, positioned film and immersive storytelling as “accelerators of futures”, linking science, society and imagination within CERN’s Generation Higgs cultural season. Alongside international short‑film competitions, the festival featured dedicated competitions for immersive XR/VR/AR projects, installations and interactive experiences.

VIS’s presence in the Immersive competition underlines its focus on XR storytelling that blends historical narrative, scientific accuracy and cinematic design to engage diverse audiences. Projects such as Galileo VR use virtual and extended reality to bring complex scientific topics and historical contexts to life, offering visitors an embodied way to explore research, instruments and ideas that would otherwise remain abstract.

The selection at CineGlobe confirms VIS’s role in bridging research institutions and the public through immersive formats, and marks another step in the organisation’s strategy to develop high‑quality, scientifically grounded experiences for festivals, museums and educational contexts.
